ABOUT ST JUDE's
St Jude's currently has a small but dedicated and enthusiastic congregation.
The church was threatened with closure over ten years ago but this was met with prayer and a determination to continue. Since then, the church has undergone several changes, not least of which is the life and renewed Spirit which welcomes every visitor to the church. There is ever hope for continued growth.
The building has had new lighting which (making use of the scaffolding) led to a complete overhaul and the ceiling getting its first lick of paint for 50 years. The marvelous Gern organ has also been fully refurbished resulting in a much better sound.
Most Sunday morning services tend to follow the informal Family Service, with Holy Communion being held every third Sunday. There are also Fellowship meetings, which include various activities, held as announced on Tuesday evenings. Visitors will find a warm welcome to the fellowship and refreshments which follow each service.
Some events over 2017 such as, 'Celebrating Church Life' which was attended by 50+ people and was all organised by Daniel Booth (19) and Matthew Spiers (15). Also an Open Day was held in August to attract more people into the church.
We hope and pray we see you sometime at St Jude's whether it's at our Sunday service, 'The Way' group, Songs of Praise or a special event.
