BISHOP OF THE SOUTHERN DIOCESE Following the retirement of its previous minister over ten years ago, St Jude's was almost closed. A small group of people thought this shouldn't happen and decided to try and keep the church open, if only for just another year. The church has been in an interregnum ever since, and we've done much better than just another year!
The church is currently under the oversight of Rt Rev Dr Paul Hunt, Bishop of the Southern Diocese of the Free Church of England. Bishop Paul is the minister for one of our sister churches, St Andrew's in Bentley, and usually visits St Jude's once per month, Episcopal duties permitting. Bishop Paul also ensures our pulpit is filled each Sunday and Chairs the Council meetings.
